Whistleblowers Conference on Civil and Human Rights

By the CNN Wire Staff updated 9:55 PM EDT, Fri May 11, 2012

The No FEAR Coalition and the No FEAR Institute will join the USDA Coalition of Minority Employees, Acorn 8, Network for Women’s Equality (Net-We) and other organizations to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the 2002 passage of the first civil rights and whistleblower law of the 21st Century: the Notification of Federal Employees Anti-discrimination and Retaliation Act of 2002, commonly referred to as the No FEAR Act.  The celebration of the No FEAR Act will continue throughout the country for one year.  The first celebration will be launched at the Blacks in Government Regional Training Program on Saturday from 3-4pm at 301 7th Street, S.W., Washington, DC ( General Services Administration.) Dr. Marsha Coleman-Adebayo will provide the closing keynote address.

The No FEAR Coalition/Institute, will present a report card, grading agencies on their civil rights and whistleblower performance based on No FEAR data, available on every federal government website. Net-We, The Brown Center
for Public Policy Ethics in Business Institute, Whistlewatch.org, David Pardo (Brown Center) and Tanya Ward Jordan (Coalition 4 Change) will present case studies of the EPA, the Department of Transportation, HHS and Department of
Commerce. The data indicates that federal agencies continue to levy unspeakable retaliation and abuse against whistleblowers. “We will also celebrate whistleblowers who have refused to submit to governmental abuse,” said Dr. Coleman-Adebayo, Lawrence Lucas, President of the USDA  Coalition of Minority Employees said “we will never stop fighting against the abuse occurring everyday inside the USDA and the war against black farmers.” Susan Morris, President of the Network for Women’s Equality said, there is a sustained war against women whistleblowers at the EPA. The fact that a woman leads the EPA has not made any difference to the women at the Agency who have been fired or retaliated against because they have blown the whistle on the corruption inside the EPA.”
