Brian Banks makes good impression on Seahawks 27 By Gregg Rosenthal Around The League editor

Brian Banks makes good impression on Seahawks

Exonerated 26-year-old linebacker Brian Banks' whirlwind NFL tour has reached its most important stop. Banks is in Seattle for the Seahawks' three-day minicamp.

It remains a long shot that Banks will wind up going to training camp with a team after a decade away from the game, including five years spent in jail. If it's going to happen, however, this is his best shot.

"Obviously there's a little rust out there," Seahawks linebackers coach Ken Norton said. "But the idea is can he line up and can he chase the ball? So far, it's about making a first impression, and I like the first impression he left."

So ... you're saying there's a chance?

"Does he look like a ballplayer? Yes," Norton said. "Does he move well? Yes. Is there a chance? Absolutely."

Sometimes it's all about what quotes you choose. We read those quotes in the Seattle Times and felt optimistic about Banks. Then we read more quotes from Norton on the Seahawks' official website.

"This is the NFL -- the best of the best -- so it’s going to be really tough for (Banks). Just the fact that he came out here and gave it a shot and didn’t shy away from it, you’ve got to give him a plus for that," he said. "But again, this is the best of the best, the highest level of athlete, and he’s been out of it for 10 years. So it’s going to be really, really tough. … Right now, he has a chance. But it’s going to be really, really tough."

That's a little more realistic. If nothing else, Banks already is used to beating the odds. Nothing about his story is realistic, yet it's all true.

A Man Is A Man When He Appreciates Life

Brian Banks served 5 years in prison for being accused of rape, a rape that was found to have been an admitted lie shortly after he served time for the lie.

Banks was once a high school football prospect prior to his being arrest, and now, at the age of 26, he is getting a shot at something, that I'm sure he dreamed about many nights while sitting in that small cell.

One would think that a man would be so bitter and angry for serving time for something that he didn't do, and one wouldn't blame Mr. Banks if he harbored a grudge or anger for a stolen life, and a stolen possible great world.

However, after watching Mr. Banks interview, which I highly recommend that you all watch, he shows signs of a man with great spirit, the rare type of spirit that very few people are blessed with, a spirit that exudes "extraordinary".

His Positivity is wonderful to hear and his willingness to share his heart with others, with the intent to provide an example of how one could be at the bottom of a presumed existence, and rise to become on the top of the world.

Mr. Banks, I'd be willing to bet my last dime on this fact, if he had not gone to jail, he would have made his mark in the mind and hearts of us all already, and yet, even with what Mr. Banks has gone through, his character suggests that he has not been anywhere other than right where he is today.

I wish Mr. Banks all the luck in the world, and I know how tough his road is in his attempt to make a NFL Professional Football rooster, after years of no physical activity, even with all that is ahead of him, in his attempt to conqure this lofty dream, I already applaud him for his success of conquering a life daemon.

If Mr. Banks make a team, I for one, would love to see his life become a movie, because he has already impressed the hell out of me.
